Recent Women of Faith2016 Secret Sister Reveal gathering.

Women of Faith will be doing their Secret Sister ministry again for the first six months of 2017. Sunday January 29 is the last day to sign up. Use the sign-up sheet in the foyer at church or call or email Ruthanne. Click secret-sisters-guidelines for details as to what the Secret Sister ministry is all about.

Please donate any or all of the items below so that we can assemble Health Kits that will provide basic necessities to people who have been forced to leave their homes due to natural disaster or human conflict. Any monetary donations will be used to purchase much needed items for the kits.

  • 1 hand towel
    • 15 x 25 inches to 17 x 27 inches, Kitchen, cleaning, and microfiber towels not acceptable
  • 1 washcloth
  • 1 comb
    • Comb needs to be sturdy and longer than 6 inches. No pocket combs or picks
  • 1 metal nail file or nail clippers. No emery boards, please.
  • 1 bath-size soap
    • 3 oz. and larger sizes only. No Ivory or Jergens soap due to moisture content.
  • 1 toothbrush
    • Adult size. Do not remove from original packaging.
  • 6 adhesive bandages
    • ¾ inch to 1 inch-size. (Common household Band-Aids)
  • 1 plastic bag
    • One-gallon size sealable bag only.

$1.00 to purchase toothpaste (UMCOR is now purchasing toothpaste in bulk to be added to health kits before shipping to ensure that the product does not expire before it is sent.)

Important Notes

  • All items must be new.
  • Do not wash any of the items as they will be considered used.
  • Add $1 for each kit to help cover cost of shipping to area in need

Youth United: Our next activity will be held at a TBD date in February.  We will hold our usual small group meeting Sunday 2/5 @ 12pm.

Sunday School will resume on January 29. (Sunday School, ages PreK-6th Grade, is held on Sunday’s during worship service.)

Courageous Conversations group will be resuming with a new format and meeting time.  Please submit controversial or difficult topics/questions you would like to see discussed in a group setting.  See PJ for more information.

Construction dates for our new shed will be announced soon!!!  Let us know if you can help out.

Take a brick, do a chore- Thank you for all the hard work cleaning, weeding, trimming, building, repairing!

FOOD BASKET MINISTRY reminder:

CHRISTMAS DINNER non-perishables:  Green beans, corn, canned yams, stuffing mix, apple sauce, turkey gravy, cake mixes, cake frosting, oil (for cake baking, etc), roasting pans for turkeys/breasts.

STUFF-THE-PANTRY non-perishables:  Oatmeal, cereal, mac and cheese, tuna, beans of any kind, peas, soup, rice, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly, raisins, canned fruit.

The food basket collection period is now through December 18. Bring items to church at any time.

We will buy fresh fruits, vegetables, potatoes, eggs, butter, rolls and whatever else needed with any monetary donations received.

Our Courageous Conversations continue Thursdays at 7pm. Currently being discussed is human sexuality as it relates to Christian faith.  I do hope you can join us and add to the conversation.  Thanks! Peace, PJ

A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal. Be a part of changing children’s lives all over the world in Jesus’ name through the power of a simple gift with Operation Christmas Child.

FASHION REWIND CONSIGNMENT BOUTIQUE ON-GOING FUNDRAISER REMINDER

As you get ready for the colder weather, do you have any lightly-used women’s winter clothing that you might want to weed out and give to a worthy cause? Consider bringing it to Fashion Rewind on Route 9W. This consignment shop helps us turn our like-new clothing that just doesn’t meet our needs anymore into income for our church.  They also accept jewelry and some home design pieces.
